Water Treatment Plant

Concrete is continuing to be placed with at least two pours a week. Generally, one pour of concrete is 50-75 cubic yards. The interior walls of the subgrade level have begun to take shape. Those of you who are able to visit the site can see quite a maze of walls in the clear well area.

At the end of January, Wells Concrete began production of the precast wall panels for the new WTP. Last week several of us visited Wells, MN and observed the process they use to construct precast walls and beams. I have attached a photo of one of the first ones to be completed. Wells will also be casting several double-tee beams for the roof of the new plant later this summer.

After taking the week between Christmas and New Year's off the contractors are back to work. The weather has cooperated up until today as temperatures begin to fall and the talk of snow is in the forecast. Yesterday about 70' of wall was poured with another concrete pour scheduled for Friday of this week. Material continues to arrive and is being stored on-site. Some of the material includes, steel rebar, ductile iron piping, ductile iron pipe sleeves, and other miscellaneous pipe fittings.

Rebar and forms for the subgrade walls continue to be installed. The contractor is expecting to pour about 80' of wall on Thursday, Dec. 15th. In the next few days some renderings of the completed project will be posted to the construction page. Please check them out.

The weather continues to cooperate as the construction continues. The second half of the basin floor will be poured on Wednesday. The contractor is estimating 600 cubic yards of concrete will be placed that day.

Over 500 cubic yards of concrete were placed this morning as one-half of the base slab will be complete by the end of the day. Construction continues on schedule with another 500+ cubic yard concrete pour set for the middle of next week.

Winnebago Ave Sports Complex

The site has been seeded and mulched for the winter. The City will be obtaining bids for the lighting and restrooms this winter. Construction will resume next spring when the rest of the project will be completed.

The site has been graded and 90% of the storm sewer has been installed. The parking lots are near finished grades and will be touched up prior to paving next spring. The site is currently being seeded and mulched.
